What is a commercial hot tub?

Unlike a private hot tub, a commercial hot tub is designed and engineered to cope with heavy use. Furthermore, the technical specifications of a commercial hot tub are governed by the relevant hygiene standards.

Acrylic shell with overflow channels

At the heart of USSPA’s commercial hot tubs lies an ergonomically shaped acrylic shell fitted with a hydromassage system. The very shape of the hot tub must take into account the specific requirements of public use. Whilst skimmers are sufficient for draining water into the filtration system in private spas, overflow channels covering at least two-thirds of the wetted perimeter are a typical and essential feature of professional hot tubs. These ensure rapid water replacement from the surface. The water then flows through a storage tank into the filtration system, from which it returns to the spa shell after chemical treatment and heating. The entire system is designed to operate with a significantly larger volume of water than is contained in the spa itself, which is an important prerequisite for the rapid dilution of impurities in the water and its effective maintenance in accordance with strict hygiene standards.

Thermal cover for greater efficiency

All USSPA commercial hot tub models can be fitted with a thermal cover to ensure greater operational efficiency; this cover completely prevents heat and moisture from escaping when the spa is not in use. This also means the hot tub can be operated outdoors all year round with low energy consumption. Technology and control systems
